Knauf Insulation is among the significant producers of insulation goods and services in the world. Also, it has the most extensive growth and most renowned brands in the insulation sector, with even more than forty years of expertise.
Rock mineral wool, blown (or loose) wool, and wood wool are just a few of the high-quality mineral wool insulation materials available from Knauf Insulation. Moreover, a new line of green solutions was recently added to the company’s portfolio.
Knauf Insulation’s €120 Million Insulation Plant
Knauf Insulation has revealed intentions to develop a new insulation facility in Malaysia to increase sales of its products in the Asia Pacific. “We’ve witnessed record sales throughout Asia due to rising energy prices and more severe energy-saving construction rules in countries like Australia, Japan, and Korea,” said Stuart Dunbar, Knauf Insulation’s Regional General Manager for the Asia Pacific Region.
The €120 million glass mineral fibre insulation facility was built in Johor Bahru, Malaysia’s south, and opened in 2021. The new factory would have a capacity of 75,000 tonnes per year and create 180 jobs in Malaysia, with another 60 positions throughout the area.
Milestone In Knauf’s Insulation Journey
“We are happy to unveil our new factory in Johor Bahru,” said David Ducarme, Group COO of Knauf Insulation. This investment demonstrates the Knauf Group’s long-term commitment to expanding its insulation operations globally as one of its fundamental business pillars. It’s also a significant step forwards in our quest to become the world’s top supplier of innovative high-performance insulating solutions.”
Management And Technologies That Is State-Of-The-Art
The new factory will become one of the most environmentally friendly and energy-efficient insulation plants in the Asia Pacific. One factor contributing to the facility’s high sustainability is the use of up to 80% recycled material in the manufacturing process. Also, all of the goods will be made using a phenol- and formaldehyde-free binder.
Furthermore, it is known for its high compression packing. Not only is this handier in terms of storage, but it also allows for other bags of insulation to be put into a single truck, decreasing the number of vehicles on the road. By concentrating on effective shipping logistics, Knauf hopes to enhance its presence throughout the insulator areas of New Zealand, Australia, Singapore, Japan, Korea and Singapore. Moreover, the new facility will provide our clients and partners with several options to extend their involvement in the region’s growing industry for environmentally responsible and resource-efficient buildings,” Mr Dunbar added.
Builders And Homeowners Can Rely On Knauf’s Batt Insulation
Some insulation manufacturers are likewise happy to be connected with Knauf and are looking forward to the potential of a new manufacturing unit being built closer to home. Van Oord, general manager of another insulation company, commented, “Knauf frequently offers high-quality batt insulation. Our installers like working because it is soft and nice to work with. Homeowners also know they have high-quality products which might keep their families warm and comfortable and cool in summer. Year after year, they save money on their energy costs, which is beneficial to the finances and the environment.”
Knauf Insulation is glad of its legacy of supplying clients with high-performing products which might explain the increase in demand. “This is a reflection of our clients’ increased desire for great quality, performance, simplicity of handling, and durability of our products,” Mr Dunbar added.
Achieves Two Milestones In Sustainability
Being a multinational insulation manufacturer and a member of the WorldGBC’s Europe Regional Network has met two of its main 2020 sustainability goals this year, four years ahead of time.
Since 2010, the corporation has lowered its power use by 20.9% and CO2 emissions by 25.1%. Insulation Matters, the company’s yearly magazine, highlights these data.
The journal highlights Knauf Insulation’s groundbreaking work over the last year, including a novel rethink of real-world performance studies via the energy-efficient refurbishment of 190 houses in the United Kingdom, as part of WorldGBC’s recent Build Upon initiative. It also details the company’s BIM advancements, acoustic research achievements, and knowledge geared towards maximising green building certification system points.
Knauf Insulation is lobbying for stronger energy efficiency laws in Europe, pioneering each store for energy-saving retrofit, and becoming involved in renovation projects to illustrate that insulation is simple and cost-effective.
Above all, it is working on several creative new solutions to aid in the battle against climate change and the challenge of diminishing natural energy supplies. Moreover, they can now look back on more than 30 years of business history as a worldwide competitor and member of an international operational family organisation. And it currently employs over 5,500 people in over 35 locations, with over 40 manufacturing facilities in 15 countries.
